He was not supposed to be here and he knew it. He was a deputy after all not some wild kit. Sighing he twitched his tail and flicked his ears as he opened his mouth to scent the air better. Leopardback said she would meet him here. She was another Clan's medicine cat so their love was forbidden in more ways than one. Then the scent hit him. It was familiar yet strange.
It belonged to no clan, but still smelled as sweet to him as it had so many moons ago. He couldn't even count how many moons it had been since he had meet the mysterious she-kit when he had been but a kit himself. He had never learned her name and she his. Blocking the memories form him he waited for the she-cat he loved. His blood ran cold in his veins. The promise. He had made a promise with Myth, as he called her, and he had broken it. He was in love with a medicine cat the cat he was waiting for.
Then another thing hit him like a blow from an enemy. "When you do I shall return." He hoped to Star Clan they would keep her away. He didn't want to be torn his heart going to both she-cats. With that though he closed his eyes and waited for what Star Clan had in store for him.

Karma trudged through the woods, the moonlight glinting on her silky coat in the most brilliant way. She had no idea where she was going, maybe to catch a mouse or two before finding a place to sleep, but she soon picked up a faint scent. It's him! She thought to herself, It must be! Breaking into a run, she let her paws carry her towards the scent. It's been so long... countless moons. Will he still remember me? Whipping her head around, she was becoming almost dizzy with excitement. If he had kept his promise, now was the time to keep hers. She must return to him. Before long, she found herself surrounded by four huge willow trees. She had been here before, but not at night, and in the middle of the clearing was a cat. Not just any cat, but the one cat she had longed to see again ever since she had first met him. He was older now, obviously. She had not seen him for many moons, but not much had changed. "You!" she gasped, stepping forward and blinking her her silver eyes up at him.

Ravenwood opened his eyes in surprise. He whispered one word when Karma's scent hit him full blast. "Myth..." He was stunned. He had forgotten how beautiful she was her coat, was silky almost like a river glowing along the rocks. Was that her best quality no, her eyes.
Those silver depths stared into him like the stars in silverpelt. She took his breath away. Then just like before his blood ran cold. Was he so fickle that he would forget the cat he loved so easily? He closed his eyes to compose himself. Once that was accomplished he opened them again.
"Hello again, we never knew each other's names, I am Ravenwood." He told her hoping that his voice didn't quiver. "What is yours?"

Karma took another step towards Ravenwood, her tail quivering with delight. "We finally meet again." She murmured softly, "I'm Karma. You... remember me." She softly planted her paws on the ground, one in front of the other, until she was perched on a twisted tree root jutting out of the ground. Her face was just a few mouse-lengths away from Ravenwood's. She sat still for a few moments, her eyes unblinking, admiring her old friend. His strong familiar scent was almost overwhelming. Leaning foreword, she whispered into his ear, "Yes, isn't it funny how we never knew each other's names?" Karma jumped down from the root, she couldn't seem to sit still. All those memories were flooding back to her. Slowly, she circled the black-and-white tom, her tail raised high in the air. Finally, she stopped and gave a satisfied purr. It was definitely him. She remembered drowning into those yellow-green eyes when she was still a kit. How could she forget those times? Purring still, she stepped closer and pressed her face into Ravenwood's neck. "I came back." She mewed.

Ravenwood loved the way her name sounded. 'Karma..' He let the name resound in his head as he watched her. Apparently she was having trouble sitting still. He on the other hand couldn't even be forced to move. If a twoleg or a monster came tearing through the forest he wouldn't even hear them.
His gaze was focused on Karma and only her. "Yes it is funny." He stated after a moment of silence. When she stepped close to him and pushed her face into his neck his heart melted. How could he love Leopardback when Karma was here.
Yes he had known Leopardback longer than Karma, but something about the loner made him forget about the medicine Cat. Struggling to get his thoughts together he pressed his nose to her shoulder. "Where have you been?" He asked. Breathing in her scent intoxicated him. It had been to long since he had smelled it. "I missed you." He added after a moment.

A sleek-pelted she-cat rushed around. Here? ... Here? she asked herself as she ran around. I've only been here once before! When I was a medicine cat apprentice, I believe. Suddenly, two scents smacked her in the face like a blast of cold air. Her nose suddenly burned with the freshness of the two mingling scents. She breathed heavily as she approached the two figures. "Hello?" Her voice rang softly. It was unusual for her voice to be so soft. Maybe it was the scents messing with her nose or just the fact she was around cats she didn't know. She looked into the two cats eyes, seemingly recognizing both of them from somewhere.

Karma nearly swooned at the black-and-white tom's soft touch and gentle words. "I... I had to take care of my mother," She replied apologetically, "M-my adoptive mother of course. I told you about my real mother, didn't I? Anyways, she was very sick. She didn't survive, though. So it was all in vain." Karma shook her head to get rid of the sad memory, then pressed the side of her face back into Ravenwood's fur. "I missed you too." She whispered, her eyes closed blissfully. This was what she had waited for all those moons. Finally, they were together again. He still loved her. Everything was going to be alright. Suddenly, she heard a rustling in the bushes and pulled away. She missed the warmth of Ravenwood's fur, but forced herself to whip her head around. She knew the way of the Clans. Ravenwood mustn't be caught with her. Karma found herself staring at a stunning leopard-printed she-cat. "Who's this?" She gasped, turning back to Ravenwood.

Ravenwood's ears drooped as she talked of her mother. "Poor Karma." He breathed into her shoulder. He wanted to take her pain away. When she pulled away the danger of being caught once more jumped up.
Along with another nagging thought of Leopardback. Turning his gaze to the newcomer he stiffened. 'Leopardback!' His mind screamed at him. Turning his gaze back on Karma his voice was strong.
"Leopardback, Medicine Cat of Autumn Clan." He said though how he managed he didn't know. His throat had tightened and his mouth had gone dry. He knew that eventually he would have to tell Karma the truth but now he didn't know who he loved.
He was torn.

"Oh, hello, Ravenwood," her voice smooth yet soft. She softened it as she saw the other she-cat. "A friend?" She eyed her, curious. What? What is he doing? Does he love her more than me? I-is that possible?! Another thought popped into her head, pushing away the other. What if he really does love her? Should I really stand in the way? Her eyes softened, and she suddenly realized she was backing up.

Karma narrowed her eyes at the newcomer. She had an unfamiliar scent. Karma's perfect fairy tale ending now had a huge hole in it. She tried not to jump to conclusions, but Ravenwood was obviously expecting this cat to come, and she didn't seem very happy to see Karma there either. Well, if this Leopardback thinks she can just barge in and take my Ravenwood away from me, then she's wrong! She's going to have to fight for him! I've waited too long to have him taken away from me like this! "Hello," Karma mewed sweetly. She smiled and waved her tail in greeting. "Yes, I'm... a friend of Ravenwood's" If this cat was a friend of Ravenwood's as well, she didn't want to seem hostile. But deep down inside, she knew that was not the case. She new there was something else. She was screaming. You didn't keep your promise! I'm nothing special to you!

Ravenwood moved away from Karma toward Leopardback. "Leopardback, wait..."He trailed off looking from his new love to his first love. Which would he spend his life with. Either way his loyalty to his Clan would be tried.
After all he was a Deputy! How could he have let himself become so muddled. Even after he had made the promise to protect what he deemed worthy he was unconsciously destroying it. Letting out a sigh he looked down at his paws. "I'm sorry but....I love you both to much to leave either of you."
He instantly regretted this. He would have to chose or risk losing both of them for ever. Rave scented the air. Her sister had been here recently and was apparently close to her destination. Blinking she continued on her path. She had something she wanted to tell her sister. She wanted to join the Clan's. She no longer felt safe as a loner and she wanted Karma to join with her.
A plus to this was the fact that Karma was in love a Clan cat. Which meant that Karma would have to join to be with him. Coming across for willows she scented two other cats along with her sister. Stopping she hid her ears pricked forward to catch the conversation.

Leopardback paused to hear him out after she realized she was backing up. After he uttered his words, she looked down, unable to look either in the eye. "I... I love you, too. And As long as you choose what makes you happy, I'll be happy... promise." She looked him in the eyes and smiled. "But, I... have to get back to the clan." She turned to start padding away. She suddenly ran into another cat. She back up and accidentally hit Ravenwood.
((have fun with this X3))

Karma's head began to spin. It was all happening too fast. Ravenwood... in love with another cat? No, no! This was not going right at all! She was supposed to be with him forever. This was how she had planned it! But of course, life wasn't that easy. Life just loved watching her suffer. Karma had done some pretty bad things in her past, and this was just life's way of getting back at her. It took away her only love. "Ravenwood, you made a promise!" She blurted out at the exact same time Leopardback began to speak. She realized how selfish her words sounded compared to Leopardback's and blushed deeply. What was she thinking? Karma was a mangy loner, Ravenwood was a noble Clan cat, and so was Leopardback. She could never compete. No matter how hard she tried, he would always be closer to the leopard-printed she-cat. They were meant to be together. How could she have ever thought she had a chance? Suddenly, Karma picked up her sister's scent. She wanted nothing more than to run over to her sister, bury her face into Rave's soft fur, and tell her what had happened, but she was distracted as Leopardback collided with Ravenwood.

Ravenwood was caught off guard for the second time that night when Leopardback backed into him. He barely managed to keep himself upright. "What..!" He stopped coming face to face with yet another she-cat. She had almost the same scent as Karma, it was just a little different.
"Karma, you never said you had a sister." He said softly moving away from Leopardback and toward her. He loved Leopardback and Karma, but deep inside he knew who he was going to choose. Leopardback had a duty to her Clan as their medicine cat, he knew he would never mean everything to her. Karma on the other hand only had a duty to those she loved.
He could be everything to her. "Karma" he breathed coming to stand close enough to her to touch his nose to hers. Rave was stunned. She lowered her gaze and mumbled an apology. She hadn't expected to be found out so early. She didn't want to meet her sisters gaze, only because she didn't know how her sister would react to her presence. Gathering her courage she looked up to see the Clan tom with his nose pressed to Karma's. Maybe her idea would work after all. Hope rose in her chest as she watched. If Karma still loved him she wouldn't have quarrels about joining the Clans.

Karma gasped as Ravenwood came in close and pressed his nose against hers. She gazed into his eyes, she didn't know what to think. She almost forgot how to breathe. This could not be happening! Leopardback was the obvious choice. They were perfect for each other. But as she breathed in Ravenwood's strong familiar scent close to her, she wanted to melt away. She wanted to stay like this forever, with her one true love by her side, and his scent filling her nostrils. It didn't matter that Karma didn't think she was the right choice, because Ravenwood sure seemed to think so, and she didn't want to protest. This was what she had wanted all along. Karma saw her sister nearby and smiled at her, waving her tail in greeting. She didn't bother to come over because she didn't want to pull away and spoil the moment, she knew Rave would understand. Sighing with delight, Karma leaned in closer and pressed her muzzle against Ravenwood's. She felt as if every moment of her life, every thing she had done, had lead up to this. This was the only thing that mattered to her now, this was the perfect moment. But something about it didn't feel quite right, what about Leopardback? Would she be alright? Karma knew she would have been very upset if Ravenwood had chosen Leopardback over her, she couldn't even imagine what the other she-cat must be going through right now. Pulling away, she murmured, "Is Leopardback going to be alright?"
