Cascade opened her twilight blue eyes, and gazed around herself. Parting her jaws in a yawn, she can already see the sun blazing bright in the sky. Snow was also falling from the clouds. Yesterday night, she missed a mice and two voles. She haven't eaten all night. She was hungry, cold, in a bad mood, and she slept in. Great. What a nice way to start the day.

Shiver stirred in his sleep and rolled over onto his back, groaning and opening his dark violet eyes. He had just had a very strange dream. It had been coming to him for many moons now, but he still couldn't quite remember exactly what he had seen, couldn't quite figure out what fate was trying to tell him. Maybe he would try again tonight. After all, if the dream kept repeating itself like this, it must be important. Turning his attention back to the waking world, Shiver noticed that snow was falling in from a hole in the roof, covering his fur in a light, powdery dusting. The loner forced himself to his paws and gave his pelt a quick shake to get rid of the frost. He spotted a she-cat not far away. Shiver recognized her, he had seen her around here quite often, but had never bothered to get to know her. Maybe today would be the day.

Sitting down now, Cascade licked one gray-blue paw, drawing it over her face. Now her attention was on her sleep, instead of the waking world. What did it mean? A silver and black she-cat seemingly falling from the sky on top of her. Cascade couldn't move, couldn't yowl, couldn't do anything. But, when the cat hit Cascade, she didn't feel any weight on her back. Instead, she felt warmth spread throughout her body. What did it mean? A cat falling from the night sky and landing on Cascade is strange enough already, but what is strangest is what happens at the end of her dream. She felt another spirit inhabitat her body, and she felt one word whisper through her mind. Whisperstar. Cascade have been having this dream for a few days now. What does it mean? That sounded like a clan name. And the dream... the dream felt like a message from Starclan. There must be clans around here!

((Hey, would you mind making a StarClan bio for Whisperstar? If you have time, of course.))
Shiver bounded over to Cascade and sat down beside her. He felt a little awkward, as he had seen her quite a few times before, but had never actually attempted to speak to her until now. Still, she looked friendly enough, maybe they could be friends. "What are you thinking about?" He asked, addressing her thoughtful face. It was kind of hard to read her expression, but to tell the truth, she looked a little scared, as well as excited. "Ohh, I'm Shiver, by the way." He added quickly, inwardly laughing at himself for leaving out this very important detail. You haven't had contact with another cat for so long, you've nearly forgotten how to behave! Shiver thought to himself, his eyes twinkled with laughter.

(** I'll do it as soon as I find time... **)
Cascade looked up in surprise as Shiver bounded up to her, but his question startled her more. As she was thinking of a reply, Shiver told her his name. "Oh, hi! I'm Cascade!" Cascade chirped brightly. With the names out of the way, Cascade started thinking of a reply to Shiver's question. If he asked, that must mean that he's been having those dreams too! "To tell you the truth, yes I have." Cascade answered slowly. Looking up at him with her startling blue eyes, she cocked her head a little to the right. "Have you?" she asked.

Shiver blinked his dark purple eyes in confusion, Cascade's answer had not matched his question at all. Clearly, her mind wasn't focused on their conversation, but he didn't want to embarrass her by pointing it out. Besides, it almost looked as if she wanted him to answer 'yes', and so out of politeness, he obliged. "Yes," Shiver replied, his whiskers twitching in amusement as he played along. "Yes, I have too." He smiled down at the strange blue she-cat and made himself more comfortable on the wooden floor. Maybe he would be able to pry something out of her so that he could play along a little more convincingly. But what could she possibly be talking about? He wondered thoughtfully, What does she have? More importantly, what did I just agree to having?

(** I just had a thought. Maybe... they can be mates? :3 lol, that was random. **)
Cascade's eyes brightened. "You have?" she meowed. Then she noticed the twinkle in his eyes, and her tail fell to the ground. "You don't, do you?" she meowed sadly. "You said yes just to impress me." Letting out a BIG sigh, she flopped to the ground. There was that strange instinct of her's, able to weed out lies and truths.

((Funny, I was thinking that too!! I read your bio, and I thought Shiver would make the perfect match!!))
Shiver tilted his head to the side as Cascade's eyes brightened, she looked very pretty when she was happy. He had the sudden urge to excite her again, just to see that sparkle in her face. "No, no, really! I have! Honest!" Shiver insisted, laughing. "What are you talking about? Of course I do! Why would I lie to you?" Cascade was a very strange cat indeed, but somehow, Shiver liked her company, liked teasing her. He hoped that he hadn't offended her by lying. After all, he was just trying to be polite. Suddenly, it didn't matter what he agreed to having anymore. He just wanted to see Cascade's warm smile again. "Besides, if I were trying to impress you... isn't that a good thing? It means I like you and I want to be friends, you should be pleased."

Cascade looked up again, a smile teasing at the corner of her lips. "Yes, yes it does." she purred to Shiver. The fact that he was lying suddenly didn't seem to matter anymore. All she wanted was to be by his side and hear his voice. "Friends?" She asked playfully. "Well, of course!" looking up into the frosty blue sky, she shivered. "Maybe we should go hunting... together, if you don't mind." Cascade added that last part hesitently, as if she wasn't sure if Shiver will accept or not.

Shiver smiled warmly. "I'd love to." He replied, nervously swinging his tail from side to side. Now that he had just what he wanted, he wasn't quite sure what to do with it. Shiver had never really had very many friends in his past, what if he was careless and said something to offend Cascade? Shaking his head, he quickly pushed this thought away. Of course he wouldn't. Besides, Cascade didn't look like the type of cat to hold a grudge, it would be fine. "Lead the way then," He offered with a sweeping gesture of his tail. Looking into Cascade's face, Shiver smiled. Why hadn't he done this sooner? Maybe then he wouldn't feel so lonely all the time. "I'll be right behind you."

Cascade looked into Shiver's violet eyes, and had to force herself to look away. Smiling foolishly, she looked behind her. Where to find the mice? Suddenly, Cascade's mind went blank. Think, Cascade, think! Cascade shouted at herself, mentally. They've slept here, so the mice wouldn't be here, that's for sure. They must be further back. Creeping back with her nose in the air, Cascade inhaled the scent of snow, wood, and mice... and also Shiver's scent, right behind her. She can hear the soft padding of his feet. Suddenly, a stronger scent hit the roof of her mouth, a scent that is... nore alive. Wriggling her hind legs, she gathered her energy... and pounced, killing the reddish creature with one bite to the neck.

Shiver followed Cascade to the back of the abandoned house. It was more overgrown back here, small green shrubs sprouted between the wooden floorboards. He watched as a mouse darted past him and gave chase, his paws kicking up dirt as he ran. As suddenly as it had appeared, the creature disappeared and another one took it's place, scurrying in the other direction. Shiver skidded to a stop and turned around, bashing into Cascade. "Sorry, sorry!" He laughed, pulling himself off the she-cat and collapsing onto the cold wooden floor. "I'm so hungry, I can barely see where I'm going!" Shiver squinted his dark violet eyes. Sun was now streaming into the holes in the roof, hitting Cascade's fur in a way that almost set her aflame. He couldn't help but to stare.

Cascade stared in surprise as Shiver bumped in to her. "Oh, that's alright!" she laughed. The sun was hitting his eyes now, and she stared into the dark violet orbs. So deep... she can also feel his eyes staring into her. After what seemed like only a few heartbeats, Cascade looked away, red tinting at her cheeks. Suddenly, another mouse streaked pass her, and Cascade's paw shot out and killed the brown mouse. With a quickness of decision that surprised even her, she pushed her second catch towards Shiver. "Um, for you." she meowed shyly.

Shiver blinked in surprise as Cascade looked away. Had he done something wrong? Was it rude to stare? With a sigh of relief, he watched as she offered him a mouse. "Thanks!" Shiver exclaimed, gratefully tucking into his warm meal. Cascade's scent still lingered on it, making it taste a little better, sweet almost. Chewing thoughtfully, Shiver let his mind wander and found himself thinking about his dream. It had been a blur this morning, but after giving it some thought, it began to clear. He was, it seemed, another cat. Every time he looked down at his paws, they were black and gold instead of grey. He remembered sleeping in a stone den, hunting in the forest, even standing tall and proud on a tree stump while other cats gathered beneath him. He had never seen anything like it. It was indeed a very strange dream.

Cascade watched Shiver eating his mouse, and started devouring the red mice herself. Plucking out some of the fur, she took a huge bite, and chewed thoughtfully. Now her mind was on her dream again. She's certain that there are clans here, yes, but still... why did she have that dream? She isn't a clan leader, not a medicine cat... not even a warrior. Why did the dream come to her, a loner? And a cat falling from the sky... that must indicate Starclan. Another Starclan? More than one set of warriors? It was all so confusing to her. She remembered hearing about the ancient Skyclan. Maybe these clans are the decedents of Skyclan? Maybe, but she's not sure. In fact, she isn't sure about anything right now.
