Stretching each light gold or brown limb in turn, Stormclaw emerged slowly from the warrior's den. First all was warm and the temperature was comfortable but then a sharp gust of wind blew throught the camp very suddenly, causing the tom to shiver. Leaf-fall was definately on the way. And that was the onyl thing standing between his Clan and the dreaded leaf-bare. Still, SpringClan had lived through countless previous leaf-bares and there wasn't any real reason why they wouldn't make it through this one.
Stormclaw padded softly over to the fresh-kill pile, noticing with distaste that it wasn't nearly as big as it should be, considering it wasn't even fully leaf-fall yet. He would have to send out a hunting patrol once more cats woke up. This reminded him of the Dawn patrol. He decided to lead it himself, and then settled down absently next to the pile of fresh-kill without taking anything to search his mind for the cats he should take with him. Which one, which one?

Mothstar exited her den and turned her face up to the sun, but she received little warmth, for Leaf-fall was just around the corner. Shivering, she yawned widely and stretched out her long ginger legs. She didn't really feel like doing anything today. All she wanted to do was curl up in her soft mossy bed and go back to sleep. But of course, Mothstar was a Clan leader, and she couldn't just do that. She couldn't just sit there and watch as her Clan provided for themselves. Blinking sleep from her eyes, Mothstar noticed Stormclaw glancing down at a pitifully small fresh-kill pile with distaste. She padded over to join him, settling down in the most comfortable position she could manage. "Pitiful, isn't it?" She meowed conversationally, "And it's not even Leaf-bare yet. I don't know what we are going to do when the snow comes."

Mintpaw shook with excitement last night had been her first night sleeping in the apprentice's den. Becoming an apprentice had been a very glorious moment, but the main thing that still made her body shake in delight was that Mothstar was her mentor. It was a great honor in her mind for the leader of the clan to be her mentor. Finally becoming so over whelmed by sitting still she hopped up and made her way out of the den and into the clearing noticing Stormclaw and Mothstar she bowed her head her tail twitching happily. "Good morning Mothstar, Stromclaw."

"Good morning," Mothstar replied with a wide kind smile, her worries of Leaf-bare were washed away as she gazed down at her new apprentice. She knew Mintpaw must be excited, for she had been apprenticed not long ago. Mothstar had always loved having an apprentice, she had not had one in such a long time, and it would be nice to get close to a younger cat again. It had been countless moons since she was able to do that. She was ready to teach Mintpaw all she had learned, she was ready to fill her with the skills and knowledge needed to survive in the wilderness. She was ready to turn this apprentice into a loyal and determined warrior. Looking down at her ginger paws, Mothstar found herself as excited as a new mentor, as if she were receiving an apprentice for the first time. But something about Mintpaw was just... special. She was even more determined to train this young she-cat, more than she had been for the past few others. "Did you sleep well?" She asked kindly, "How did you enjoy the apprentices' den?"

Mistheart padded over to Mothstar. She stood next to the three and waited until Mothstar was able to talk to her. Should I make her follow me back? Or should I wait until she decided what to do? I guess I'll just tell her and let her decide...

"Yes, it is. I was going to order a hunting patrol." Meowed Stormclaw back, eyes flickering to Mothstar's face for a moment before returning to the pile. They should definetly stock up while leaf-bare was stilll aroudn the corner. Once it set in there would be little hope for full bellies. The tom's grim thoughts were broken into by a cheerful greeting fromt he Clan's newest apprentice. "Morning Mintpaw." He greeted her warmly, adding with a warmth in his amber eyes, "How's life as an apprentice so far?" He knew the little she-cat would be practically bouncing in her new status and rembered with a real fondness his own aprpentice ceremony. It seemed like it had been several life-times ago now though.
The gold tom's thoughts drifted back to the dawn patrol. Mothstar would want to train Mintpaw so he would have to find some other cats to taek with him. Just then Mistheart padded up and his initial problem was solved. "Mistheart, could you come on the dawn patrol with me soon?" He hoped she would agree because then he would onyl need a few warriors for the hunting patrol. Being a deputy was difficult when there weren't enough cats to go around.

((Ummm.. Lucky, it's Mistheart. Not Windmist. XD))
Mothstar nodded approvingly at her deputy. "That might be a good idea, Stormclaw." She meowed as Mistheart came over. "We sure do need a little more food. Make that alot more. I wonder how the other Clans are coping with Leaf-fall. They must be better off than us." She shivered as another cold blast of wind ripped through her fur. Even with a coat as thick as hers, Mothstar could still feel the stinging cold. Sighing, she turned back to Stormclaw. "Ohh well, we'll manage. This isn't the first time we've had to deal with the cold, and it won't be the last. We mustn't let SpringClan appear weak." She then turned to the white she-cat and smiled. It almost looked as if Mistheart wanted to speak with her in private. "Did you need me?" She asked, her eyes darkening in concern. "I hope it's not more bad news. We've got enough of that already," Mothstar flicked her tail towards what little prey they had.

((yeah, thats my other kitty... she's half-way across camp right now X3))
"Stormclaw; sure, I just need to talk to Mothstar briefly and alone for a bit," Mistheart said softly. She wrapped her tail around her paws as she sat. Her ears flattened sadly. "Mothstar, I'm so sorry to bother you with more bad news. Would you like to hear about it now or later? I believe now would be a better time since I don't see him in camp." She sighed. I've already revealed enough, just keep going... "I must report that I have seen Hazelpaw out of camp and near other clan territories, so I thought I should come to you. I need to know if you'd like to punish him or if you'd like me to choose. He's out of camp right now and I fear he's with a WinterClan she-cat..." she trailed off, trying to give Mothstar a bit of time to think.
((Mothstar-san- are you going to run into "A Young Forbidden Love"? it's fine with me since snowstar has just exploded... X3))
EDIT: bah! i'm sorry! i'm in almost every clan! i've gotten so confuzzled! _^_ fixed!

((Umm.. First of all, Hazelpaw didn't cross the border into SpringClan because he's in SpringClan. Second of all, he didn't cross the border at all. Violetpaw and Wishpaw crossed the border into SpringClan. He stayed in his own territory the whole time. Could you perhaps... edit your post? Just say he's meeting up with a WinterClan she-cat on SpringClan territory?))
Mothstar groaned and tilted her head back, closing her pale blue eyes. For a moment, she sat there, wondering how things could get any worse. It was beginning to get chilly, Leaf-bare was coming and it was coming fast, the Clan was going to starve, and she had a love-struck apprentice to deal with. What was she going to do now? Well, there was only one thing to do. Sighing, Mothstar opened her eyes again and gave Mistheart a weak smile. "Thank you for telling me this." She meowed, "I shall take care of this myself. You go hunting with Stormclaw. We sure need the extra help. And don't worry. I'll make sure Hazelpaw gets the proper punishment." With a grim face, Mothstar got up and padded out of camp. She managed to pick up Hazelpaw's faint scent and began to follow him into the forest.
((Oops.. I kind of neglected Mintpaw back there. >< Ohh well, she can go on the hunting patrol. Yeah, and if you need Mothstar, she'll be in 'A Young Forbidden Love'.))

Mistheart nodded. She went off to find Stormclaw again to go out hunting. She suddenly felt the urge to follow Mothstar. She wanted perfectly clear to know what was going on.
((eh! sorry, i'm letting Mistheart follow Mothstar!))

Mothstar returned to camp, her head held high. She refused to let Hazelpaw's bad behavior dampen her mood. "Mintpaw," She called, swinging her head from side to side, looking for her new apprentice. She spotted Mintpaw right where she had left her. "We're going hunting. Would you like that? I'll show you the basics, and we can see how much you know already." The thought of training Mintpaw already lifted her spirits, as Mothstar lead the way out into the forest, flicking her tail for Mintpaw to follow. She couldn't wait to start training. Mintpaw was going to turn out to be a fine warrior, she could just tell.

Mintpaw's spirit had dropped when Mothstar had left, but then she remembered that Mothstar was the Clan's leader. She couldn't just abandon her Clan. With that though Mintpaw had sat where Mothstar had left her waiting for her mentor to return. When Mothstar did come back looking for her Mintpaw's spirit flew. "Yes I would love to go hunting, and I'll show you everything I know." She said confidently as she rose to her paws her tail held straight up.
