Cinderwave sat in the sand staring out over the pond. She was so still she looked almost like a statue except for the way her fur rippled in the soft breeze slinking over her body and the rest of the water. This was her sanctuary when she was sad. A tear fell down her cheek and splattered to the sand. She had been picked one once again and it hurt her more now that she was with out Hollyheart and her mother Thunderstorm. She desperately wanted to show her clan what she could do but her coloring always clouded their minds. Letting out a sigh she began to ponder whether she should stay in her clan.

Another shape emerged from within the shadows, carrying a dead dove in his jaws. Padding up next to Cinderwave, Foresteyes set the dove down in front of the white and orange cat. He found her coloring odd, yes, but, strangely attractive. "Who was it this time?" he meowed softly, settling down next to the she-cat. Licking his paws, he drew it over his ear, waiting for her reply. He didn't think that cats should judge another other than their personality, but hey, every other cat have their own thoughts. Lying down next to her, he looked up at her with his eyes, one green and one blue.

Cinderwave jumped away from Foresteyes. He had always been nice to her but she didn't trust him. He could be like the others only worse. He would gain her trust then tear her down. "Fernfang." She said softly her tail curling around her hind paws trying to hide the hideous orange pelt that covered them.

As if reading her thought, Foresteyes laughed. "I'm not like everybody else, you know." he meowed, a playful gleam in his eyes. "Not all cats are alike. True, most cats always tease you by your coloring, but there are some exeptions. Besides, what is the point of making a friend, and them betraying her?" Looking up at Cinderwave with friendly eyes, Foresteyes pushed the dove closer to her. "You look scrawny. Here, eat. It'll help restore your strengh."

Cinderwave hesitated. It was true was hungry, but could what Foresteyes was saying be true? She understood that not all cats were the same Hollyheart and Thunderstorm were proof of that. After a final thought she crept toward the dove and began eating. After chewing for a bit she looked at him with her stormy eyes. "Are you hungry?" She asked timidly.

Foresteyes shook his head. "No, I just ate." he replied kindly. Sitting now, he stared into the calm, rippling waters. It always lulled him whenever he is excited, angry, or jumpy, and it had the same effect of him now. Settling down, he watched the waters. "I hope you aren't thinking of leaving Summerclan, Cinderwave." he meowed without looking back. "There are cats who actually enjoy your company, beleive it or not. Including me."

Cinderwave blinked. How had he known she was leaving she hadn't told anyone. "Well...I...ummm..."She stopped and swallowed. "I had been..uhh thinking..about it." She finished sheepishly as she finished the dove and licked her jaws. "Thank..you." She mumbled before she took the bones and buried them a few fox lengths away. "I never..um knew you liked my company." She stated as she returned and sat several tail lengths away from him.

Foresteyes laughed again. "Of course you don't!" he meowed, a hint of amusement in his voice. "I never told you." Then his tone turned serious again. "Really, Cinderwave. You shouldn't leave Summerclan. Your pelt color is strange, yes, but you still are a good warrior." Looking serious once again, Foresteyes turned to Cinderwave. "Really. What I'm saying is true. Some cats do enjoy your compant... they just keep it hidden."

Cinderwave wanted to believe him so badly but a life of constant put downs and abuse had twisted her mind a little. "I'm not so sure." She breathed then got to her paws. "Hollyheart, Thunderstorm, and you are the only cats to show me any compassion. Even my own sisters couldn't stand to be around me....my real mother always told me that my warrior name should have been forgottensoul." She spat as she started toward the trees. Except she wasn't heading for the camp.

"Your mother doesn't know any better!" Foresteyes called after the figure of Cinderwave, but didn't try and stop her. He didn't want her to leave, but he always wanted to allow another cat to do whatever they wish, without being disturbed. If Cinderwave did leave, then she will probably want to return after a while. Probably.

After padding through the trees for a while her anger burned out. She had never gotten that angry before and hadn't bee watching where she was going. "Great now I'm lost." She said aloud ass she padded around trying to find something familiar to her. It was no use she was lost. "When I find my way back I will apologize to Foresteyes and hopefully still have a friend in camp."She mewed half heartedly.

Foresteyes was getting bored of waiting for Cinderwave. Maybe I should head back to camp now. He thought to himself. Or... maybe I should go and search for her?

After what seemed like moons of endless searching she found a shrub that looked and smelled familiar. With a happy mew she began to follow it hoping it lead her where she wanted to go and not into a foxes den or something.

Making up his mind, Foresteyes got up, his nose in the air. Following Cinderwave's scent, he was met with a fresh blast not a long ways off. Following the scent, he soon came close to the place where cinderwave was. Deciding in the nick of a second, Foresteyes sat down, waiting for Cinderwave to find him instead of the other way around.

Cinderwave padded forward with determination now as she could scent Foresteyes. With the next paw step she sped up and collided with something large. With a startled hiss she jumped back and stared at Foresteyes. "Oh, ummm hello again." She mewed sheepishly shuffling her paws.
