Snowstar turned around to see her faithful deputy waiting. She sighed. "You know why I've called you," she sat down. She bent further to her belly. Her tail rested mournfully. "I need help finding good punishments for Wishpaw as well as Violetpaw. They both deserve a punishment of some kind, but how severe should it be?" She rested her forehead on her paws. "This is so hard!" she moaned to herself.

Moonkiss kneaded her paws into a soft wad of moss and blinked nervously. She did not want Snowstar to think she was soft, yet she also didn't want to give the apprentices too harsh of a punishment. Moonkiss seemed to struggle with herself for almost an eternity, until in the end, the deputy had to let her soft side win over. "I don't think it should be too harsh," She murmured quietly, hiding her face in shame. "Apprentices will be apprentices. I don't think either would be foolish enough to cross the border on purpose, it could have just been an accident." Moonkiss realized that even for carelessness, there should still be consequences. Sighing heavily, the deputy made a suggestion. "How about this? The apprentices will spend the rest of the day doing something useful for WinterClan. They may not rest until the sun has set. I've already asked Violetpaw to catch a few meals for the queens and elders, as well as keep an eye out for Wishpaw. She didn't seem to like that at all. We can ask Wishpaw to help out with things around the camp, and if you wish, we may also leave both apprentices behind for the next Gathering. It's not all too harsh, but I know both of them will be very upset. That's already a punishment in itself." Moonkiss thought her proposal was very appropriate, though whether Snowstar would like it or not, she wasn't quite sure.

Snowstar's tail flicked. She knew she was relying on Moonkiss very heavily. She could see the frustration in her face. She suddenly felt bad for dragging her deputy in this. But on the other hand, it was her apprentice, as well. "They should know the scent of the border by now." she contradicted, mostly to herself. "Yes, leaving them from the gathering!" She looked up. "Yes, that sounds good, all of it..." She stood up. "Will you tell Violetpaw? I'll tell Wishpaw." Her tail was still low as she slunk out of the den.

Moonkiss nodded in agreement. "Of course, Snowstar!" She obliged without question. "I'll go out and find her right away. She couldn't have gone too far, after all." With her tail high in the air, Moonkiss left to find her apprentice. She didn't want to be the bearer of bad news, but at the same time, she knew Violetpaw could have had it much much worse. I saved her tail this time, The deputy thought to herself, So she'd better not act all rude and hot-headed. I'm really not in the mood for her I'm-too-good-for-everyone-attitude right now. Padding out into the clearing, Moonkiss passed Wishpaw, who sat with her tail curled neatly around her front paws. "You'll survive," Moonkiss murmured to the apprentice, giving the her a weak smile. "I made sure of that myself." Without another word, the deputy left camp and breathed in the fresh scents of the forest. "Now... where are you, Violetpaw?" The pearly white she-cat muttered, whipping her head from side to side and scenting the air around her.

Snowstar sighed, numb standing at the doorway. Was that the right thing to do? Moonkiss seemed pleased... She padded out, walking over toward Wishpaw.
