Snowstar nudged the two apprentices into camp, following Moonkiss. "Moonkiss, kindly deal with your apprentice. You may deal with her how you like. I must tend to Wishpaw, here," she shot a bit of a dirty look to Wishpaw.
((leaving it open to you, Moonkiss! :3))

Cloverwing lifted her head as Snowstar, Moonkiss, and the two apprentices returned to camp. She could see now by the look on Snowstar's face that young Wishpaw was going to get a fierce talking to and a severe punishment. She felt her nose wrinkle and that was the reason she was happy for not being a mentor. Young cats were hard to control.

Moonkiss lead the way back to camp, followed by Snowstar, Violetpaw, and Wishpaw. I would hate to see Wishpaw get any deeper into this, She thought to herself, settling down in a patch of warm sunlight. Time to fix this up, before it gets any worse. "Violetpaw," Moonkiss meowed, waving her apprentice over, so that Wishpaw would not hear what she was about to say, "I would like you to keep an eye out for Wishpaw, make sure she doesn't get into any more trouble. I know you won't like it, but I'm trusting you with this, alright? I wouldn't be asking you otherwise." She paused to give her apprentice a long hard look, making sure that she didn't protest. "Now go hunt for the queens. Wishpaw was supposed to come with you, but as you and I can imagine, Snowstar probably has other plans for her. Let that be a lesson to you, stay out of trouble." Giving Violetpaw another hard stare, Moonkiss turned away and padded over to Cloverwing. "Apprentices," She muttered, "What are we going to do with them?"

Violetpaw let her jaw drop. She was ready to protest, but decided against it. Instead, she simply nodded and exited the camp, her tail held high. Great, she thought. Now I have to baby-sit Wishpaw too. Why can't she just stay out of trouble? Violetpaw broke into a run, toward the Pine Forest to hunt. Thank StarClan I don't have to take Wishpaw hunting with me, she thought to herself as she disappeared into the trees.

Cloverwing shook her head. "Oh, I'm glad I don't have to deal with them." She said happily flicking her tail. She didn't get along well with the younger cats and couldn't stand the hyperactivity of most of them. "What did Wishpaw and Violetpaw do this time?" She asked curiosity getting the better of her.

Moonkiss sighed. Sometimes, she wished she didn't have an apprentice either. "It's a long story. Well, this morning Violetpaw chased a rabbit onto SpringClan territory. I wasn't all too mad about that. It was just an accident after all. And besides, apprentices make mistakes all the time. I mean, don't try to tell me you never accidentally chased a rabbit across the border when you were an apprentice too. Anyways, as punishment, all she has to do is hunt for the queens and elders. I let her go easy. Wishpaw on the other hand... Snowstar is really mad. This morning, she left camp without telling anyone. Violetpaw did so to, but I guess I didn't mind that much. Sometimes, I think I let her walk all over me... Anyways, she was gone for so long that we had to send out a search party. Turns out, Wishpaw was in SpringClan territory, Snowstar caught her speaking to a SpringClan tom cat." Moonkiss almost shuddered, imagining how much trouble Wishpaw would be in. "We tried to get out of there before any SpringClan cats caught us, but then Mothstar showed up. She apologized for the young tom's behavior, but of course, he wasn't the one on another Clan's territory... I don't know what we're going to do with them. Can't they just stay out of trouble for once?"
((Wishpaw!! We're waiting for you!! =P))

Sorrowsong listened to all of the commotion quietly, her tail curled over her paws. "So Wishpaw is in trouble, once again?" she asked Moonkiss. She sighed to herself. "Young cats just can't seem to help it, can they?" she asked them. "To them, it is just plain fun." Sorrowsong had to smile a little as she remembered her apprenticeship. To her, it was just plain fun to break the warrior code and do things she knew that she isn't suppouse to do, too.

"She sure is!" Moonkiss meowed as Sorrowsong joined in the discussion. She couldn't help but to scoff a little at Wishpaw's careless behavior. "Are you surprised?" Moonkiss saw a mischievous smile spread across Sorrowsong's face and knew that the warrior was remembering her own apprenticeship. The deputy reflected back on her past as well, and found herself wishing that she was still an apprentice. Curious and carefree, apprentices didn't have to worry about anything, just as long as they had food in their bellies. They would never understand the stress and extra responsibilities that Moonkiss had to deal with as deputy, unless of course, one of them were to become deputy themselves. Moonkiss honestly could not remember a time when she could just lay back and soak in the rays of the sun, when she could run through a field of flowers, or when she could just sit back and talk to her friends. She always had something to do. Apprentices to watch over, patrols to plan... "Why can't they be right?" The deputy sighed, "Why can't life just be all fun and games?"

"Well, if life was just all fun and games, then we would be wishing for the kind of life we have right now, won't we?" Sorrowsong mewed. "And being apprentices arn't that easy, either." she added. Her eyes began salting up with the thought of Serpenttail, but she flicked her head side to side, trying to hide her tears. This isn't the best moment to cry! But, no matter how hard she tries, she just can't stop the tears from cascadeing down her face. "Imagine how you felt when you encountered your first death." Sorrowsong meowed weakly. Now she is living up to her name. Sorrow. Her heart is full of sorrow. For her mom, dad, and all those dear to her who have passed away. She sighed. "It sure wasn't fun for me when Serpenttail passed away." she meowed. Reflecting back, she can still remember her father's pitch-black fur, his green eyes... Brushing the tears away from her eyes with a paw, she looked over at Moonkiss, and smiled weakly. "Sorry, Moonkiss." she meowed. "Just a flashback."

Moonkiss watched as the other she-cat broke down into tears, widening her eyes in surprise at the sudden change in mood. "I-I'm sorry," She stammered, at about the same time that Sorrowsong began to apologize as well. "I didn't mean to trigger anything..." The black-and-white she-cat did as she was told, although Sorrowsong probably didn't mean it literally, and thought back on the very first death she had to face. Moonkiss had to smile as she remembered her own mother. She too, had died when Moonkiss was still at a very young age, but Moonkiss had fond memories of her. Now, having had so much time to heal, she could actually think of her mother and smile fondly, instead of breaking down into tears. This, obviously, was not the case for Sorrowsong. She seemed to be having a very hard time getting over the death of her father, and Moonkiss didn't blame her. Turning her attention away from the death of her mother and back to her grieving friend, Moonkiss pressed herself against Sorrowsong's warm side and let out a sympathetic mew. She curled her tail around the other she-cat, holding her tightly for comfort.

Sorrowsong purred as Moonkiss pressed herself against Sorrowsong. "Sorry." she meowed again. "All these moons..." she began, and broke off. Her golden eyes blinked, and she began again. "All these moons, my father have died, and I feel like I'm all alone. I feel like I should be further along now." she meowed. "It seems... it seems that he just won't leave!" Another tear fell from her eyes, splashing onto the ground. That led to a fresh flow of hears, that poured out of her eyes. Sorrowsong can feel the salty tears in her mouth, and her tongue moved around in order to releive some of the salty taste. Her name was Sorrowsong, but right now, she felt like Sorrowheart.

"I know it's tough, but you're not alone," Moonkiss murmured softly into Sorrowsong's ear. She felt such strong sympathy for the grieving she-cat, but she had no idea what to say to make her feel better, and so she blurted out the very first thing that came up to her mind. "You've got me! And if that's not enough, you've even got the rest of WinterClan by your side! Believe it or not, we'll always be right behind you, helping you get through this with whatever we can." Satisfied with her own comforting words, Moonkiss pulled away and pushed herself up to her paws. She slowly circled her friend and brushed their pelts together, her pads making no sound at all as they glided silently over the frosty ground. At last, she came to a stop in front of Sorrowsong and brushed away her tears with a fluffed out tail. "And you've got your father too. He's still watching over you, even though he's... gone." Moonkiss could have slapped herself, the words slipped out before she could do anything about it. How could she be so insensitive? She was usually so good at thinking up things to say, now she was lost for decent words. But then again, usually when she had to cheer up another cat, it was not involved with death.

Sorrowsong sniffed. "Thanks, Moonkiss." she meowed. "I know that I've got you and the rest of Winterclan by my side." Sorrowsong closed her eyes soothingly as their pelts brushed together, once again. "Don't worry." Sorrowsong meowed. "I know that Serpenttail and Marigold is watching over me." Even though Marigold is a kittypet. The unspoken words echoed in Sorrowsong's head.

Snowstar came up to the two, who were deep in their conversation. Her head was whipping around from left to right. "Have either of you seen Wishpaw? She hasn't been seen in camp for some time now!" Snowstar stayed standing and bowed her head. I didn't even get the chance to talk to her... Now what? She popped her head back up. "Oh, was I interrupting something? I'm sorry!" She apologized with a huge sigh. She plopped down onto her stomach, her paws outstretched a bit, her tail flicking hard. It's so hard to be leader... She had a frown on her face as her eyes closed.

((I'm afraid Wishpaw isn't very active anymore, she's been quite busy during the past few weeks. Months more like it. T^T Fortunately, she's mah friend from school, and she's let me adopt Wishpaw temporarily until she gets her life back together, so the plot doesn't have to stand still anymore!! :3))
Moonkiss looked over at her leader, "That's alright," She meowed, but she thought that Sorrowsong might be a little embarrassed if Snowstar saw her crying, and sighed with relief as Wishpaw's head appeared around the entrance of the camp."Ohh! And there's Wishpaw, right behind you!" She flicked her tail at the apprentice who was slow making her way towards the cluster of cats, and quickly threw her a sympathetic glance. As a nervous Wishpaw slunk over, Moonkiss hoped that Snowstar had had enough time to calm down, and that she wouldn't be too harsh with her apprentice. Not wanting to get involved, the deputy turned back to Sorrowsong and continued to comfort her, mewing gently in her ear, "Will you be alright?"
Wishpaw padded reluctantly over to her mentor and plopped herself down right in front of her. "Sorry," She mumbled, looking down at her midnight blue paws. "You guys run fast. I couldn't keep up." Gulping, she forced herself to imagine how much trouble she was in and nearly shuddered with fear, right in front of Snowstar.
